Hi Kate, Enjoyed looking at your artwork and reading your main page. Thank you for sharing . It must be painful at times, yet some of your artwork is quite joyous. Sounds like you are moving into some balance. Namaste, Ellen

Thank you for sharing this album Kate --I find the self-portrait particularly moving --it's something about how you have rendered the facial lines................

About Me:
I am an artist who suffers from schizophrenia, but I have been in recovery for about 7 years in a large part due to the practice of having compassion for myself and my voices. I also believe strongly in being medication compliant, working with a therapist and mental health support groups and staying as creative as possible. I'm committed to being honest about my condition in the hopes that I can do my part to de-stigmatize serious mental illnesses and to encourage others that recovery is possible.

What brought you to the Unfettered Mind community site?
I just ordered Ken's book and I have been looking for a forum to join where I can talk to others about my practice and theirs. I am particularly interested in Lojong, though I've been told that it is an intermediate practice and that I need a teacher. I won't be able to look for a teacher until next Spring, but I'm determined to begin nonetheless. I'm hoping that Ken's book and this forum might provide some basic support so that I continue with the practice.
