Unfettered Mind

I would appreciate if folks would use the discussion to list some of their favorite audio talks, podcasts or podcast sites. I personally like AudioDharma, Dharmaseed, Buddhistgeeks, and Zencast. Does anyone have others that they enjoy? Which teachers do you enjoy on podcasts? I appreciate Ken, of course, as well as Stephen Batchelor and Rodney Smith. I spend several hours a day travelling in my vehicle and I find this to be a great way to pass the time and keep my head "in the game". Thanks for your time.

Thanks very much for these resources, Ann. You might be interested in a book (sorry not a podcast!) called Benedict's Dharma: Buddhists reflect on the Rule of St. Benedict, edited by Patrick Henry, the commentary by Norman Fischer, Joseph Goldstein, Judith Simmer-Brown and Yifa (Japanese nun). I can send you my copy if you'd like, just email me your address.

You're probably aware that a Benedictine monk, John Main, was instrumental in reviving the practice of meditation within the Catholic church, see http://www.wccm.org

I recently listened to Tami Simon's interview with her teacher Reggie Ray (the Sounds True: Insights from the Edge podcast). Her questions are honest and challenging: e.g., How can you call yourself a vajra master when you haven't been authorized by any lineage? If this isn't a cult, why do you demand so much commitment?

I googled it so I could get her help in working through my feelings about your failure to provide us with a link! :-)

A failure to communicate ...I'm a little computer illiterate and have difficulty with the linking proccess. However I'm willing to learn. Google is good .No? The AUDIO DHARMA podcasts can be accessed through ITUNES on the unfettered podcast page. I realize these things keep changing.

The FAQ in the Notes section in the right hand column of the page includes step by step instructions on how to insert hyperlinks. Unfortunately there's no FAQ index so you'll have to scroll down a bit to locate this. .

Five Bells Hi
I got that...
There's an endless smorg of podcasts on ITunes. I just listended another one on the "10 stages/ paintings of the OX" by Gil Frosdale he apparently gave this same talk 16 years ago. It's also on the Audio Dharma.

Stephen Batchelor recently gave two talks on the topic of the Secular Buddha at the Spirit Rock Meditation Center in California. They are available at:

I am confessing to being a pod junkie also. Traveling in the car, and gardening seems to be the time for listening to downloads. And Kens being the first to drop into the ipod, I have also subscribed to the ones mentioned above. But sometimes for a light, down to earth relief to the ears, I love to listen to Sylvia Boorstein's talks, found at Dharmaseed.org. She seems a lovely kind person.
